| 10-day Ganesh Mahotsav culminates with visarjan at Chander Bhaga | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 19: The 10 day-long festival celebrating the arrival of Lord Ganesha culminated today. In Akhnoor Ganpati statues are brought to the Chander Bhaga river on the last day amidst much dancing and merriment, and immersed in the river water.
The local residents of Pacca Danga also bid a teary farewell to Lord Ganesha as he began his return journey to his heavenly abode on Ananta Chaturdashi. SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat was the chief guest during their occasion of visarjan. The SSP while speaking on the occasion wished that Ganpati take along all our troubles and bless us with eternal happiness and joy in life. Meanwhile, Mohalla Sudhar Committee Arya Samaj, Akhnoor led by President Ravi Kumar organiZed a bhandara on the eve. |
