With no permanent VCs in Central University Jammu University in soup: ABRSM | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 20: Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shakshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) Jammu Kashmir UT, President Devraj Thakur has expressed concern over the inordinate delay in joining/ appointing VCs to universities in Jammu Kashmir. In a statement here today, Devraj said that the Central University of Jammu, Vice-Chancellor’s post is lying vacant almost a year now after Professor Ashok Aima’s tenure ended in last two years. He said the University of Jammu Vice-Chancellor’s post also is vacant for more than five months. “Absence of the head of the institution is the fundamental call for the chaos in the universities. Research projects are delayed because there is no head to clear it and lecturers’ appointments are kept pending because the Vice-Chancellor is not appointed. So in every way, the absence of Vice Chancellor is the fundamental reason for the deterioration in the functioning of the Central University,” said Thakur.
