Finalises arrangements for visit of union Minister(s) | DDC Kishtwar reviews functioning of RDD | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Sept 20: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today chaired a meeting of Rural Development Department to take fortnightly review of progress made under MGNREGA, 14th FC, SBM and B2V etc. The meeting was apprised about the physical and financial achievements made under these flagship schemes. The DDC reviewed Block wise performance and directed to expedite the pace of developmental works to meet the timelines. The DDC directed the BDOs to consult PRIs for the verification of job cards and sanctioning of works to genuine card holders, besides directed to ensure timely payments to Job Card holders. On the occasion, the DC interacted with the newly posted BDOs and advised them to work with utmost dedication and honesty and closely monitor the pace of development in their respective Blocks to meet the set targets within the stipulated time frame. They were directed to ensure the completion of houses under the PMAY and include the left out beneficiaries under Awas-plus besides ensuring the geo-tagging of the Rural Development Assets. Stressing on the timely settlement of the claims under Forest Right Act, he directed the concerned to complete the exercise of conducting gram sabhas. The meeting was attended by ADDC Sham Lal; Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal; District Panchayat Officer Sunil Bhutiyal and Block Development Officers. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) chaired another meeting to finalize arrangements in view of the expected visit of Union Minister(s) to the district in coming days for Public Outreach programme phase-ll. The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding the identification of projects/works to be inaugurated by the Ministers in the district.
