JKAACL organizes cultural programme at Gulabgarh under Azadi Ka Amrut Mohatsav

KISHTWAR, Sept 20: As a part of the 75 week long celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mohatsav, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with the local administration and Paddari Lok Kala Manch today on the direction of Secretary Cultural Academy Rahul Pandey organized a cultural programme here at sports stadium Gulabgarh Paddar wherein a large number of local artists performed their local cultural items.
The programme was conducted under the close supervision of Additional secretary JKAACL Sanjeev Rana and under the guidance of Cultural officer JKAACL Gulab Saify.
The local artists hailing from different parts of Paddar area displayed their talent through scintillating performances.
The programme was inaugurated by a prominent and senior local artist Jodh Ram Bhagat in presence of BDC chairman Arpan Singh, DDC member Hari Krishan Chauhan, SDM Paddar Varunjeet Singh Charak besides other artists.
The Khad Zaath, Ghuri and Shangli forms of local traditional dance remained the main attraction of the programme.
Besides the skits based on enriched Paddari folk culture and solo singing performance of local folk singers intermingled with mystic tunes of local instrument kept the minds of audiences and participants captivating throughout the length of the programme.
During the programme, the Horticulture and agriculture department along with locals farmers installed the stalls displaying their local exhibits and products.
Besides on spot testing and vaccination drive was also launched by the Health Department for the safety of people.
Speaking on the occasion the prominent persons and the members of Paddari Lok Kala Manch of the thanked District Administration and JKAACL for this initiative to organise such programme to instil the appreciation of folk music and traditional culture among the youths.
