15 day Certificate Course on INM underways at KVK Reasi

JAMMU, Sept 20: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Jammu (SKUAST-J) is conducting 15 days certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) here at KVK, Reasi campus for input dealers of both Reasi and Udhampur districts. The programme is being organised under the guidance of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof.JP Sharma and Director Extension, Prof. SK Gupta of SKUAST-J. All the SOPs pertaining to COVID-19 were strictly followed while conducting the programme. KVK, Reasi has arranged various technical sessions during the programme. Chief Agriculture Officer, Reasi, Sudhir Singh Chib spoke on the importance of the course and encouraged the participants to start the agri-entrepreneurship in the rural areas. He appreciated KVK, Reasi for organizing such innovative programmes. Dr.Banarsi Lal, Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi spoke on the organic fertilizers and explained their importance. He narrated that through eco-friendly technologies farmers can reduce the cost of cultivation. He said that this training programme can help to upgrade the knowledge of input dealers of rural areas who further can effectively guide the other farmers of their area after training. Dr.Ajay Gupta, Sr.Scientist & Head, KVK, Poonch spoke on toxicity of plants nutrients through virtual mode and explained the symptoms of various nutrients. He also guided participants on biofertlizers and nano-fertlizers. Dr.Suja Nabi Qureshi, Scientist spoke in length on the Integrated Nutrient Management in fruit crops. He also spoke on various types of organic and inorganic fertilizers and guided farmers on their efficient uses. He spoke in detail on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) and soil health card scheme. He also apprised farmers about the macro & micro-nutrients required for the fruit plants. Dr.Arvinder Kumar spoke on the fertilizers use efficiency. Participants also visited the various units of KVK, Reasi and appreciated the efforts of KVK. A special session on farmer-scientists interaction was also organised during which the various quarries were raised by the farmers which were answered satisfactorily by the experts. The programme assisted by Manohar Lal and.Preeti Chaudhary and concluded by Dr.Dr. Suja Nabi Qureshi with the formal vote of thanks.
