Acting Tough
9/20/2021 11:27:16 PM
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has warned the anti-national elements and has made it explicitly clear that those creating hurdles in the path of peace will be dealt with sternly.
For the past thirty years elements inimical to peace left no stone unturned to foment trouble in Jammu and Kashmir, but after J&K’s special status was revoked and it was transformed into a Union Territory things changed as the noose was tightened around the elements who ran their shops by selling dead bodies and putting Kashmir on fire.
After August 5, 2019—when the Centre announced its decision to day away with Articles 370 and 35-A J&K has witnessed a boom in development as the benefits of the centrally sponsored schemes have trickled down to the deserving people. People sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) and the militant handlers are finding it hard to believe that Kashmiris are no more interested in separatism and sedition and they want to live their lives peacefully. During the past few months LG Sinha led administration has taken many steps to keep the anti-national elements at bay. They are not being provided with any opportunity to instigate the people or create such an atmosphere that can lead to disruption in life.
Militant supporters and sympathizers have been cut to size. They no longer issue any statements, nor do they indulge in any sort of the activity that can put them in trouble. The government employees who openly used to glorify militants and militancy too have been taken to task. Many terror-friendly employees have been terminated and the ones who are refusing to mend their ways have been served with an ultimatum. LG Sinha’s recent assertion seems to be a last warning to all, including the government employees, to stay away from the acts that are against the country.
To honour the personnel of various security forces, who laid down their lives fighting insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir, important institutions and roads will be named after them. In this regard a decision has been taken and the process will start from September 30.
The narrative in Jammu and Kashmir has changed. The government is trying its best to inculcate the sense of nationalism among the people and is trying to make them understand that they have to be loyal to the nation.
