GDC Kathua organizes rally under 'Poshan Maah Abhiyan'

KATHUA, Sept 21: In continuation to its activities under 'Poshan Maah Abhiyan' and 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' NSS Units of GDC Kathua organized Poshan Rally. The rally was flagged off by Principal GDC Kathua Prof Assa Ram Sharma along with senior faculty members. The motto behind to organize this rally was to educate the masses about adopting nutrious food habit and avoiding junk and fast food in their daily life. Malnutrition and unbalanced diet is the great threat to the growth of humanity is noticed in the recent few years which force the government to focus on this issue to create awareness programme in country wide to eradicate this problem from the society and reduce the menace of malnutrition. To contribute in reducing this menace and creating awareness in the society, this rally was organized. The rally was started from Degree College Kathua by passing through DC office, Patel Nagar, Shiva Nagar and in the end culminated at Bhagat Singh Park near DC Office Kathua. Volunteers while holding poster card of nutritious food chart in their hands and enchanting slogans messaged the public during the rally.
The common public standing and passing on the road very attentively listened to the volunteers and promised to follow the nutritional chart as proposed by the volunteers.
The whole event was organized under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Prof Manmohan Singh, Prof Ritu Kumar Sharma and Prof Neha Bandral. The senior most faculty member Prof Jaswinder Singh, Prof Anoop Sharma, Dr Pankaj Gupta and Dr Jogbinder Singh also were present while the rally was flagged off.
Prof Assa Ram Sharma Principal, GDC Kathua highly appreciated the move and congratulated the NSS units to organize this rally.
