| GDC Marh organises online awareness programme on ICDS | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 29: To commemorate the 4th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2021, Department of Sociology, GDC Marh in collaboration with NSS & Red ribbon club organised an online awareness programme on Integrated Child development Services (ICDS) scheme, under the patronage of our Principal, Prof. Aekta Gupta. The speaker of the programme was Shalini Gupta, CDPO, Marh. Prof. Aekta Gupta, in her keynote address, said that Poshan Abhiyaan is a noble initiative that intends to increase nutritional awareness and responsiveness among female and male folks, community members and health care providers. She also appreciated the efforts of Organizing Committee for organizing such type of programmes. Shalini Gupta, spoke in detail about the background, schemes of ICDS and importance of observing Poshan Maah every year. She stressed that in order to ensure community mobilization and boost people's participation, how these schemes improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof. Anjana Chib. The programme was organised by Dr. Shakun Sharma, and coordinated by Prof. Sachin Kumar & Prof. Satish Kumar. Formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Ram Dayal. All the faculty members, students and their parents, Anganwadi workers attended the programme. |
