Clean India Movement initiated at GDC Ramnagar

UDHAMPUR, Oct 3: NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mohatsav’ organized two-day long activities to formally launch ‘Clean India Movement’. To commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, two-day long events were organized by the NSS unit of GDC Ramnagar on 1st and 2nd October under the patronship of Dr Udhey Bhanu, Principal of the college. On Day 1, an online poster-making competition was held in which NSS volunteers and other students shared their posters on social media on the theme “Truth, Peace, and Non-violence”. The judges of this event were Dr Rashmi Gupta (Asst Prof Physics) and Prof Neetu Sharma (Asst Prof Dogri). The students namely Neha Thakur (Sem 5), Neeti Mehra (Sem 3), and Laiba Bandey (Sem 3) secured the first, second, and third positions respectively in the online poster-making competition. On Day 2, the online seminar was held on the theme “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. The seminar was commenced by Prof Ritika Mahajan, NSS Programme Officer with a welcome address to all the members. She also spoke on the importance of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” as a mass movement to promote cleanliness across the nation. Thereafter, Prof Divya Puri (Asst Prof Psychology) also discussed the significance of the “Swachh Bharat Mission”. The students presented their different viewpoints on “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” through poems and speeches. The main focus of the students was spreading awareness among the masses towards the “Clean India Movement”. Suhani Gupta (Sem 3), Reetu Devi (Sem 6), and Prittam Kumar (Sem 3) secured the first, second, and third positions respectively. The judges of the seminar were Prof Shobha Rani (HOD Dogri) and Prof Neetu Sharma (Asst Prof Dogri). E-certificates were awarded to all the meritorious students. The entire event was organized by the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ team comprising Prof Ritika Mahajan (Convenor), Prof Divya Puri (HOD Psychology), Prof Neetu Sharma (Asst Prof Dogri), Mukesh Sharma (Physical Director) and Dr Rashmi Gupta (Asst Prof Physics). The seminar was concluded by vote of thanks by Prof. Neetu Sharma (Asst Prof Dogri).
