| 57344 kanals illegal revenue entries on forest land cancelled in Rajouri | | |

RAJOURI, Oct 4: Rajouri Forest Division conducted a detailed exercise jointly with Revenue Department for identification of persons who had managed to secure illegal revenue entries on forest land. The exercise which were started six months back involved field officials of both forest and revenue departments, so that such illegal mutations and revenue entries made on forest land often by encroachers are identified and expunged from revenue records enabling forest department to effectively save forest land from encroachment.
Dr AD Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Rajouri, informed that so far illegal entries belonging to 1151 persons across 57344 kanals has been expunged by the Revenue Department till date and the details of same have been conveyed by revenue officials to forest department as on date. Further, he informed that the process is going on so that all such revenue entries made illegally get expunged from revenue record to prevent their misuse by encroachers to create legal hurdles and stop the illegal possession of forest land by fraudulently means. |
