REASI, Oct 13: A public grievances redress camp was held today here at Jig Bagli of District Reasi. District Development Commissioner, Reasi Charandeep Singh listened to the public grievances and demands in presence of BDC Chairman, Sharifa Begum; DDC member, Abdul Rashid; District Officers, PRIs and general public of Jig Bagli and adjoining Panchayats. The PRIs and Locals put forth their issues and demands and demanded electric Poles at W.No. 03, 06 & 07, BPL Ration cards for left out BPL households, Doctor and other paramedical staff at PHC Jig, Requirement of Ambulance, Filling up of headmaster post and other staff in school, Establishment of Anganwadi centres in remaining wards, Opening of J&K bank branch, conducting survey for providing PMAY houses to left out families, Sanctioning of Govt school at Panchayat Jig (B), Construction of road from Jig ( B) to Narkote, Conducting awareness camp in the Block Head Quarter and other several issues related to water, power supply, road connectivity, Transport, Ration, health etc raised by the public during the camp. While responding to issues and demands of BDCs, DDCs and PRIs and the public, the DDC assured that all their demands and grievances will be redressed at the earliest. Addressing the camp, the DC said that the main aim of conducting such programmes is to improve service delivery and grievances redressal mechanism. He further said the Tehsil, Block and District level officers would remain available at these events to hear the public grievances for their on the spot redressal. Meanwhile, several grievances were forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt resolution through an established tracking system. In the programme, a review was also taken by DDC on all the previous issues projected by local people. Moreover, instructions were also passed to the departmental functionaries for visiting their respective jurisdictions and listening to the grievances of the general public, besides holding awareness programmes, highlighting various individual beneficiary schemes across the panchayats.
