Jammu, Oct 13: Victories aren’t born on the field. You create them during practice. This is what we did while preparing children for interschool one act play organised recently under the flagship of Sahodaya School Complex, Jammu. A team of seven Sanskritians namely ANSHIKA, AARYA, KHUSHI,TEJASVI, UJJWAL, JAYANT and SNEHA who were mentored and directed by Arun Salaria ( Pgt Sociology) , scripted and executed by Munmun Kohli (H.O.D English) and costumed by Harmeet Kour , ablazed the virtual podium with their performance, costumes and stage setting. It is pertinent to mention that Sanskritians secured 2nd position in the midst of cut throat competition with ten CBSE schools. The well acclaimed play CLEOPATRA written by Sir Shakespeare was validated by the Sanskritians in which the ignominy brought to Cleopatra was highlighted and how as a queen she left the heart imprint. The play relinquished with the theme Pride goes before you fall. The entire act was based on Act-5 of the play The act also portrays her as a strong woman through poetic descriptions of her personality, but contrasts these with moments of insecurity and weakness which emphasises her humanity to appeal to a patriarchal audience. While congratulating the mentor and the winners , Rohini Aima ,Principal Cum Vice-Chairperson of the school asserted things aren’t always easy, but you just have to keep going and don’t let the small stuff bog you down. She also innerved the children by conveying her best wishes and blessings to them . |
