GGM Science College participates in Save Tawi Clean India campaign | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 14: NSS unit of GGM Science College, Cluster University of , under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and supervision of NSS PO Dr Deepali Mahajan participated in Save Tawi under Clean India organized by JKPCC an effort to clean Tawi. The seven day long drive started on 8th October. The main aim being Say No to Plastics. The awareness rally started from GGM Science College on 9th Oct. Followed by signature campaigning at Bikram Chowk. Today on the last day of navratri, the sakh visarjan at Tawi was monitored closely segregating the 'Saakh' from other things like chunri, coconut, polythene, flowers etc so that our lifeline Surya Putri Tawi remains freed from pollutants. Very patiently the volunteers made the general public aware of the hazards of dumping non biodegradable wastes in water. The NSS volunteers collected large amount of trash from river. They also separated earthen pots which will be used as feeder for birds. The participation of youth in cleanliness drives is a step towards Swatch Bharat and was appreciated by JKPCC and Principal of the college. The zeal and enthusiasm of the volunteers make such events successful. |
