JAMMU, Oct 14: Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR, Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI)-Zone-I, Ludhiana visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) and inspected KVK instructional farm, demonstration units and reviewed the overall functioning of the KVK. During his visit, he had a healthy interaction with the scientists of KVK, Reasi and discussed the on-campus and off-campus activities of KVK. The Director shared efficient and innovative strategies to enhance the income and employment among the farmers. He laid emphasis upon the dissemination of new technologies and suggested scientists on round the year fodder production and the establishment of Integrated Farming Systems in the hilly areas. He appreciated the efforts of KVK, Reasi for the welfare of the farming community. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist and Head, KVK Reasi while welcoming the esteem dignitary gave a detailed view about how KVK is working tirelessly for the benefits of hilly areas farmers of Reasi and Udhampur district of J&K. He apprised the worthy Director about the technical support provided by KVK, Reasi on organic farming, lemon grass farming, commercial floriculture, value addition in agriculture etc. to the farmers to enhance their income and employment. |
