JTC, SKF protest continues, enters 378th day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 15: A protest dharna was held by the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K at Jagti township Nagrota, Jammu under the chairmanship of its president Shadi Lal Pandita. Addressing the protesters, Pandita said that we have been protesting for the last 378 days but the government is still not conceding to our demands. Pandita said that the government is giving very little monthly cash relief to the migrant relief holders. He reiterated the demand regarding enhancement of cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per month. The protestors also demanded Government jobs for unemployed youth and interest free bank loans for over aged displaced youth. They said that Kashmiri Pandits have suffered a lot of loss of land and property for the last 32 years which should be compensated to each and every property holder/landlord. They also reiterated the demand for building of townships in Kashmir valley near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and urged the government to give political and minority status to Kashmiri Pandits. The JTC and SKF members appealed to the Lt Governor to announce a package of 20,000 jobs for unemployed KP youth. Those who participated in the protest included ML Razdan, Ravi Ji Koul, Kashi Nath Bhat, Inder Ji Labroo, Shuban Krishan Raina, Rakesh Tickoo, S L Kar, Gh Mohmad Khan, Gurdeep Singh, Satish Pandita,Vijay Bakshi, Rattan Lal, Surinder Zutshi, AR Dar, Rajinder Koul and others. |
