| Army imparts training on emergency disaster management techniques | | | 
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 15: On international day for Disaster Risk Reduction, Army undertook a programme with special focus on Emergency Disaster Management at Thatri in District Kishtwar (J&K). The aim of this programme was to impart basic knowledge on providing First Aid to cases of fractures, control of bleeding in case of minor accident, Casualty Evacuation and emergency rescue drill. Villagers were taught about measures to be adopted in such circumstances and thereby to save life or limb. This initiative by Indian Army was highly appreciated by the villagers and they expressed their gratitude for the knowledge imparted to them. Such events definitely have a lasting impact on villagers of remote and inaccessible areas who are devoid of basic medical facilities.
