ADDC reviews arrangements for Eid Milad -Un- Nabi (SAW) | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 16: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Ramesh Chander today reviewed the arrangements for the Eid Milad-Un- Nabi (SAW) celebration in the district, here at a meeting attended by senior officers of concerned departments and religious leaders. Speaking at the meeting, the ADDC urged the religious leaders to ensure compliance of Covid SOPs by devotees coming for special prayers, particularly wearing of masks and maintenance of physical distance. He said that there would be no procession due to Covid-19 pandemic and requested the people to avoid gatherings in order to protect them and their families from Coronavirus. He said that Covid is not yet over so the people need to adhere to the Covid Appropriate Behaviour in letter and spirit. He directed the officials of PDD and Jal Shakti Department to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply on the day of Eid and provide water tankers at Mosques. Similar instructions were also issued to the Health Department for providing health care facilities, along with ambulances while the Fire and Emergency Department was asked to station fire tenders. The ADDC also asked the authorities from police and traffic departments to ensure proper security and traffic management around the Mosques to avoid inconvenience to the people. The meeting was attended by ACG Rakesh Dubey; SDM Pankaj Katoch; Youth Information Officer Imran Rashid Kataria besides other senior officers from the line departments. |
