RAMBAN, Oct 16: In view of Dengue cases reported in few places of UT of Jammu and Kashmir in the last some days, the Health Department Ramban has issued an advisory to sensitize the people about symptoms and preventive measures to contain the spread. An advisory issued by the Chief Medical Officer, Ramban, has advised the general public of the district to follow all preventive measures including preventing bites by infected mosquitoes; avoiding mosquito breeding; staying away from heavily populated residential areas, if possible; Using mosquito repellents, even while indoors; wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants tucked into socks, socks, shoes, when outdoors at dawn; Make sure window and door screens are secure and free of holes, If sleeping areas are not screened properly or air conditioned, use mosquito nets. To decrease mosquito breeding, get rid of old automobile tires, cans, flower pots, Use insect repellent 10% DEET, Permethrin, Generalised spraying of environs with Organophosphate or Pyrethroid Insecticides. |
