Inundation of JVC Hospital Bemina mocks at Govt’s claims of development | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct 24: The heavy rains in Srinagar on Saturday led to inundation of many low lying areas and also some of the institutions. The Jhelum Valley hospital also known as Jhelum Valley Medical College & Hospital located at Bemina on the Anantnag-Srinagar-Baramulla bye-pass also got submerged due to the rains. The ground floor of the hospital got inundated thus causing problems to the patients and their attendants. The patients as well as their attendants could be seen wading through the rain water and in some cases the people could be seen walking bare footed. The doctors, para-medics and other staff also faced difficulties while attending to their duties. Since the ground floor of the hospital houses some of the important installations one cannot rule out damages to equipments located at the hospital. The inundation of the hospital premises angered the people more so the patients and their attendants. They expressed concern over the water logging and mocked at the government claims that Srinagar has progressed leaps and bounds over the past two years. |
