KVK Reasi concludes special Swachhata campaign

JAMMU, Nov 2: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi concluded special Swachhata campaign at KVK, Reasi campus. The month long campaign was conducted in different villages of the district and also at KVK, Reasi campus. It was enthusiastically attended by the staff members, farmers and farm women of different villages of the area.
The cleanliness derive was organized under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, Prof J P Sharma and Director Extension, Prof S K Gupta of SKUAST-J. The major objective of the campaign was to educate the masses about the cleanliness in every nook and corner and involve more and more people in this national campaign so that the country can be made neat and clean.
Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi Dr. Banarsi Lal said that Swachhata Hi Sewa is a national sanitation programme of the Government of India to clean the vicinities so that the national drive of clean India can be made successful.
He urged participants to consistently keep cleaning their premises. He said that there is a need of consistent efforts to clean the every nook and corner of the district. He discussed on plastic pollution and suggested its remedial measures.
He discussed on crop residue management and elaborated the various organic formulations. He elaborated the techniques for solid and liquid waste management and suggested the participants to be committed towards cleanliness derive.
He urged the participants to further aware more and more people of the district about this national drive so that villages, towns, campuses, temples, mosques, Panchayat Ghar, schools etc. can be made clean and green and emphasised on the cleaning of drinking water areas, toilets, crop fields etc.
Dr. Suja Nabi Qureshi, scientist appealed the participants to have their inner self clean and make Swacchata a habit in their daily routine whether it is school, home, neighbourhood,village, town etc. so that the mission can be made successful.
