Shiv Sena demands restoration of traditional route of Mata Vaishno Devi | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 8: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded the restoration of the traditional Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra route with first Darshan at Kol Kandoli Mata Temple in the overall interest of pilgrims and the business of Jammu region. Under the leadership of party state president Manish Sahni, Shiv Sainiks seek to resume the traditional yatra of Shri Mata besides reviving the business of Jammu at Maharaja Hari Singh Statue, located on the Surya Putri Tawi bridge, Jammu. Trains moving towards Katra have taken out the of the pilgrimage itinerary historical Raghunath temple, Shivkhodi, Bawe Wali Mata, Kol Kandoli, the second Deva Mai temple from Maa Vaishno Devi Yatra. The bypass road and the express highway have been further keeping the pilgrims from many important destinations. Sahni said that business class of Jammu, which is largely dependent on religious pilgrimage stands badly affected, which needs to be saved today. He said that it is an acknowledged fact that after providing direct rail link to Udhampur and Katra the business of Jammu received a great setback. Sahni adding that we are not against the expansion of rail and national highways, but the half-hearted Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra cannot be accepted. Sahni said that today many leaders including BJP have suddenly started chanting "Jammu Jammu". Sahni urged the Home Minister Amit Shah and the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to reduce the number of direct trains going to Katra, increase the halt of trains in Jammu, along with railway station at Nagrota and Kol Kandoli besides the easy road link. He asserted that this would definitely ensure a big boost to the maximum pilgrim tourist footfall in these areas for economic revival. On this occasion President Women's Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Balwant Singh and others were also present. |
