DDC Chairman kick-starts blacktopping of three kilometers long Sandhar Road | | | Early Times Report BASOHLI, Nov 8: Col (Retd) Mahan Singh, DDC Chairman Kathua today kick started blacktopping work of three kilometers long link road from Basohli-Bani Road to Sandhar Panchyat in Bhoond Block of Basohli Sub-District. Speaking on the occasion, Singh said that this was long standing demand of the people of Sandhar for Pacca Road for the last so many years as this long road to this famous village was full of potholes and used to be sluggish during rains. He said it was due to poor quality of material used in construction, the roads in hilly areas do not sustain long and return back to the worst conditions thus causing tremendous problem to the people living in this region and using this road. Singh expressed happiness for this achievement and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making funds available for construction of roads in such remote areas. He said that first time after independence people are experiencing development in the countryside and getting benefits of different government schemes. Singh assured that he will ensure that the benefits of various schemes meant for the socio-economic upliftment of the poor and needy reach the doorsteps of the people in this remote area. |
