Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 8: With the aim to promote and preserve the dying performing art forms, Samooh Theatre organized a cultural festival here at KL Saigal Hall, Jammu wherein various folk parties enthralled the audience by giving their traditional and folk performances including Bhakh, Kark, Jagrana, Jattar, Dogri and Bhaderwahi songs . Sudhir Mahajan, founder Samooh Theatre while giving the welcome address disclosed that Samooh is committed to preserve and promote the cultural heritage and also working for the same as a mission for the last 30 years. He also expressed the hope that similar kind of events shall also be organized in the far flung areas of the Jammu region. The parties who performed were Ali Mohd and party, Kaku Yogi and party, Mohan Lal and party, Kamla Devi and party, Munshi Ram and Party, Antu Kotwal and party and Krishni Devi and party. Anita Chandpuri, noted social activist and Secretary Samooh, presented vote of thanks while Basant Viyogi anchored the programme. The event was organized with the support of BTI Section of Ministry of Culture, New Delhi. |
