| GDC Ukhral organizes "Iqbal Day" | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Nov 9: GDC Ukhral organized "Iqbal Day" to commemorate the 145th birthday of Dr Sir Muhammed Iqbal (Shair-e-Mashrik). Speaking on the occasion, the patron of the College, Dr Ranvijay Singh, spoke about the contribution of Dr Sir Muhammed Iqbal in Urdu and Persian. The Coordinator of the programme, Dr Shafiq Ahmed Katoch (HOD Urdu) delivered the speech on the length of Dr Iqbal's ideological contribution and the construction of Indian nation. Many students presented their papers about the content and structure of Dr. Iqbal's poetry. His Persian poetry and influence of English Romantic poets also found a place in some presentations. The staff members Dr Akhtar Rasool (EVS) and Dr Altaf Rasool (Education) also presented their thoughts on Dr Allama Iqbal in the programme. The programme was moderated by Prof Iftikhar Hussain, HOD English. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Zakir Hussain (HOD Political Science). |
