GDC Darhal organizes symposium on "Patriotism"

RAJOURI, Nov 9: A symposium on the theme "Patriotism" was organized by Govt Degree College (GDC) Darhal in which students of all the three classes Sem-I, Sem-III and Sem-V presented their views on the love and affection for their motherland. Principal of the college, Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia congratulated the students of the college for their participation in the symposium. He said that the college is striving hard for better academic growth and personality development of the students.
In his motivational speech on the theme of the symposium, he said that Patriotism or national pride is the feeling of love, devotion, and sense of attachment to a homeland or the country and alliance with other citizens who share the same sentiment to create a feeling of oneness among the people. He mentioned the patriots Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Rani Lakshmi Bhai, Bhagat Singh and Ashfaqulla Khan. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi appreciated the students for their presentations. He said that the college is leaving no stone unturned for providing the much needed opportunities in making the students to grow their personalities.
Mohd Araf of Sem-V, Tabssum Naz of Sem-III and Mehrunisa of Sem-III were adjudged first, second and third respectively. Dr Asif, Mahwish and Farzana were the jury members. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Riaz, HOD Persian. Others present on the occasion were Qayoom, Safeer, Avez and Saddam. The programme was attended by a large number of students of the college.
