| TRF commander among 5 militants killed in Kulgam | | |

Kulgam, Nov 17: TRF Commander among five militants were killed in twin gunfights in Gopalpora and Pombai areas in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday.
Reliable sources told Early Times that five militants including district commander of TRF being identified as Afaq Sikander were killed in two different encounters in Kulgam. They further said that three militants were killed in Pombai and two in Gopalpora area. Acting on a specific input, a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Pombai and Gopalpora villages of Kulgam. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spots, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off gunfights simultaneously at both spots. Slain militants haven't been officially yet. |
