DDC Chairperson Udhampur kick starts blacktopping, other work

UDHAMPUR, Nov 26: District Development Council Chairperson, Udhampur Lal Chand today conducted an extensive tour of rural areas to take stock of the ongoing developmental works and launched new works at different places.
The Chairperson also distributed mushroom spawn bags among the growers In the Palli area of District Udhampur, the DDC Chairperson started blacktopping a local road. The 2.32 KM road would be blacktopped at an estimated cost of Rs 48.95 lakh under PMGSY.
After inaugurating the blacktopping work, the Chairperson informed the public that road connectivity was the pre requisite for the overall development and it is the first priority of the government. He also interacted with the public and listened to people’s issues and demands. He assured them that their grievances will be redress on priority.
People of the area thanked the DDC Chairperson for his continuous efforts for the development of the area. District Development Councilor Udhampur-1, Puran Chand; Ex- MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta; Social Worker Vir Chander Sharma; Panch Suresh Goswami; Panch Rattan Singh; Panch Kewal Kumar were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, the DDC Chairperson distributed 925 bags of Mushroom Spawn among 29 growers at Neeli Nallah in presence of Chief Agriculture Officer, Udhampur Sanjay Anand. Speaking on the occasion, DDC Chairperson said that it will immensely benefit the Mushroom Growers in the area and provide more opportunities of livelihood. After distribution, the DDC held a detailed discussion with the Officers of the department and asked them to provide necessary equipment and training to encourage more farmers to grow Mushroom and other cash crops. Later, the District Development Council Chairperson kick started the slab laying work of Art craft room at Government High School Sunari Zone Tikri. The work is being executed under Samagra Shiksha by the School Education Department. The DDC Chairperson also inspected one unsafe building along with the Engineers. Locals including staff members apprised the DDC Chairperson about the unsafe building and demanded to demolish it for the safety of students and staff. Among others, Local Sarpanch, Darshana Devi, staff members of the school were present on the occasion.
