Government bent upon promoting corruption, unemployment in Jammu region: Taranjit Tony | | | Early Times Report
SUCHETGARH, Nov 26: District Development Council (DDC) member, Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony has accused the government of devising a new strategy of composite tendering for promoting corruption and creating unemployment in Jammu & Kashmir particularly in Jammu region. In a statement, Tony said that the officers sitting at the helm of affairs in governance corridors are working against the local contractors of Jammu region with the government being hell bent upon allotting tenders to people from outside the state. Citing the instance of a glaring example in Reasi district, the DDC member alleged that government has come up with a new strategy of composite tenders with the sole motive of promoting corruption of high level. Tony appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir and hold the assembly elections at the earliest so that the people of this union territory are able to take care of their issues themselves through democratically elected representatives. He also sought LG’s immediate intervention to instantly stop the new process of composite tendering as is being followed by the Jal Shakti department.
