Kashmir, Ladakh continue to freeze | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 26: Kashmir and Ladakh regions of Jammu and Kashmir remain in the grip of cold as the minimum temperature continues to remain below zero. The Meteorological Department (MeT) said that the minimum temperature in Srinagar was minus 1.3 degree Celsius on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir's Anantnag district recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.3 degrees. The other resort in north Kashmir Gulmarg recorded minus 1.8 degrees. South Kashmir's Shopian and Awantipora remained the coldest places in Kashmir and both recorded a minimum of minus 3.6 degrees. Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 0.6 degrees. In Ladakh region Drass town recorded minus 10.8 degrees, Leh was at minus 7.5 and Kargil recorded minus 5.7 degrees. According to the MeT department, the weather is most likely to remain cold and dry till the end of November in Jammu and Kashmir. |
