General Manager Northern Railway holds review meeting with departmental heads | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 30: Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager Northern Railway held a review meeting with the departmental heads of Northern Railway and DRM’s through video conferencing. Deliberations were held on keeping focus on safety on tracks keeping in mind the upcoming foggy weather, business development, punctuality and freight loading. Gangal reviewed the work done over the zone in improving the maintenance standard of track, welds and removal of scrap lying near the tracks. He showed concern about cases of tree fallen on tracks and instructed that railway tracks should be kept clear and remove all kind of hindrance for safe and smooth train operation. Gangal instructed the divisions to conduct drives to enhance the safety during upcoming foggy weather and counsel the staff whenever necessary and required. He said the monitoring of rail fractures and rail welds should be done extensively and no error should be left. He took stock of the outreach of the business development units (BDUs). Gangal instructed that BDUs should create an environment of trust, support and confidence amongst the customers. He said that the initiatives and concessions offered by the Railways should reach the clients. The GM also reviewed the strategy to enhance the freight business and loading of freight. He sanctioned eight new routes for carrying capacity wagon policy.
