SSS appeals LG, CS to order resumption of routine schooling | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 30: Sarv Shakti Sena (SSS) has urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to allow the schools to resume routine functioning and end the practice of online teaching in the overall interest of the students at large. President Sarv Shakti Sena Jammu and Kashmir, Rajan Gupta while addressing media persons during a press conference here today said that the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration should immediately order normal resumption of schools so that the school going children who have suffered a lot during the past about two years due to shift to online or virtual mode of education do not suffer more now. He said that for receiving education online the most significant instrument required is mobile and there are a substantial number of students whose parents are hardly able to make square meals a day and for them affording a mobile is impossible. How can we expect a Rehri Walla or a street hawker or others of the ilk to purchase even the base models having features required for taking online classes, he questioned. Asserting that students have already suffered a lot and the WHO stating that there could probably be seven waves of Covid, Rajan Gupta said that these waves could consume multiple years and in such a situation we can’t afford the children becoming victimized due to the aforesaid reasons that could lead to ruining of their future. Sarv Shakti Sena head said that majority of states across the nation have already ordered the resumption of the routine school functioning subject to strict adherence to Covid SOPs and CAB. He made a fervent appeal to the Lt Governor and the Chief Secretary to immediately take measures to save the future of students especially those belonging to economically weakest sections.
