GDC Darhal organizes poster making competition on “COVID-19 and preventive measures”

RAJOURI, Nov 30: A poster making competition on the theme “COVID-19 and preventive measures” was organized by Govt Degree College (GDC) Darhal in which students of the college prepared posters related to new COVID-19 Variant Omicron and various measures to be adopted for getting protection from the virus.
Principal of the college Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia congratulated the students of the college for their participation in the competition.
He threw light on the various preventive measures including physical or social distancing, quarantining, ventilation of indoor spaces, covering coughs and sneezes, hand washing, and keeping unwashed hands away from the face, the use of face masks or coverings to avoid the transmission. He motivated the students to always make use of masks and sanitizers as the new Corona variant Omicron has entered the southern part of Africa. He said that the dire need of the hour is to follow all the instructions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Dr Imtiaz Hussain, Shah HOD Urdu appreciated the efforts of the students in preparing very effective posters on COVID-19 and preventive measures. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Riaz, HOD Persian. Mehrul Nisa Choudhary, Hashim Malik and Sayed Aqsa were adjudged first, second and third respectively. Mohd Saqib and Noreen Koser got consolation prizes. Dr Jawaid Ahmad Mir, Dr Mukhtiar, Mahwish, and Farzana were the jury members. Others present on the occasion were Abdul Qayoom, Jameel Ahmed, Safeer, Avez and Saddam. The programme was attended by a large number of students of the college.
