Gang of burglars busted in central Kashmir, 7 arrested

Srinagar, Dec 4: J&K police busted a gang of alleged burglars in central Kashmir’s Budgam district and arrested seven people, police said on Saturday.
The police also claimed to have also recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees from the gang.
On December 1, police station Magam received a complaint from one Mansoor Ahmad Sheikh of Batpora Kanihama regarding a burglary at his workshop located at Agrikalan Magam.
A case was registered by the police in this regard and investigations taken up.
A police spokesman said a special team headed by Inspector Gowhar Ahmad was constituted to trace out the burglars.
During the course of the investigation, after strenuous efforts some suspects were rounded up for questioning. During questioning, one suspect Imran Hassan Mir of Kakarpora Mirgund Pattan confessed to his involvement in the above case.
His questioning led to a series of arrests and recovery of the stolen property.
“Based on his disclosure two more of his accomplices Yawar Abbas Malik of Mohalla Nishat and Aijaz Ahmad Malla of Dewar Parihaspora who had hatched the conspiracy and actively participated in the commission of crime were arrested,” the spokesman added.
Further, during sustained questioning of the trio, the stolen property was recovered from Syed Akther Shah of Parihaspora Pattan which he had concealed at his workshop near Shadipora crossing, he said.
Following more leads, the investigating team made more recoveries from their other accomplices Pervaiz Ahmad Guroo of Narayan bagh Ganderbal and Irfan Hussain Sofi of Dabb Ganderbal which they had concealed at their workshop at Dub Ganderbal.
Some more recoveries of stolen property were subsequently made from the residence of Imran Mir, he added. Investigation also revealed that one more person namely Zulfkar Ahmad Dar Mirgund Pattan was also part of the gang and who had used his vehicle for the commission of crime which was seized from Wushan Kangan Ganderbal.
