JAMMU, Dec 5: An emergency meeting of All J&K Transport Welfare Association (AJKTWA) was held at its office at Ware House Jammu under the chairmanship of its president Vijay Chib. All presidents of concerned groups/representatives and transporters were present in the meeting. In the meeting, transporters appealed to the government of JKUT to provide relief in passenger tax of all commercial transport passenger vehicles as they are unable to pay such heavy passenger taxes because of already undergone business turmoil. The route permits of transport commercial passenger vehicles which are due for depositing passenger tax and further to be renewed in Transport Commissioner’s Office and other districts of JK UT. Moreover it is worth mention here that from 31st October 2021 the penalty of Rs 50 per day is already imposed as a late fee in delay of renewal of route permits of the vehicles. Traffic Department and other Mobile Magistrates enroute while checking the documents also imposing huge compound / Court challans which has become another problem for all of us to ply on the road and further causing lot losses in our business. Even due to covid-19 and the continuous lockdown form 20-03-2020 the condition of transporters/ drivers conductors have already become from bad to worse. So we are forced to decide in this meeting that a period of one week may be given to the government of JK UT to look unto our demands and take favourable action in it. |
