| Audit Team finds faults in designs, construction of public toilet complex in Poonch | | |  rajesh tandon

POONCH, Dec 8: The construction as well as the design of public toilet complex in Poonch near Nakha Wali Chowk has been caught in flaws which have been vindicated by the audit team which inspected the complex.
Sources told Early Times that the entire design has been found faulty as no guidelines have been followed in its construction. Although, the marble plate affixed on the entry of complex which given information that the concerned councilor of ward 4 of Municipal Council Poonch has inaugurated the complex but interestingly the concerned councilor Imtiaz Salaria said that he has not inaugurated the complex and he is shocked to find his name on marble plate.
There was dire need of a public toilet complex as several buses stop here and commuters had to face problems, but due to faulty design, it has become insecure for women. He admitted that audit team had visited the public toilet complex and found lot of flaws in its construction particularly about the location of ladies toilet.
"The complex has been divided into two parts including ladies toilet and gents toilet but the ladies toilet has been deep inside the complex which is against the guidelines as its entry should be in front of the complex for the safety of fameless," he alleged. The locals alleged the involvement of contactor as well as the officials of department who didn't take timely step to correct the mistake.
The councilor alleged that he had lodged complaint with district administration regarding it but no action was taken. "The department will have to answer as how it used his name on the marble plate without his consent," he said |
