| GDC Marh organizes awareness campaign on water conservation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 8: In connection with the month-long nationwide Clean India Campaign which started from Dec 1st, the Eco Club of Govt Degree College Marh in collaboration with NSS unit organized awareness drive in the college premises under the guidance of College Principal, Prof. Aekta Gupta. In her address, she stressed upon the sustainable use of water resources and water conservation.
The convener of Eco Club Prof. Anjana Chib made aware the students about the importance of water bodies in maintaining and restoring the ecological balance.
She asserted that these sources act as sources of drinking water, recharge ground water, control floods and provide livelihood opportunities to a large number of people.
The students of college took extensive awareness and cleanliness drive at river bank near village Dhateryal. They took the message of cleanliness of water bodies to their local wards and villages. Prof Sachin Bhagat coordinated the program along with NSS volunteers. |
