SRINAGAR, Dec 21: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband from his possession in south Kashmir district of Kulgam district, a police spokesman said.
He said, on specific information Kulgam police during a routine checking noticed a person moving in suspicious circumstances. On seeing the police the accused tried to flee from the spot was apprehended tactfully.
The accused has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Padder, a resident of Okay Kulgam.
During the frisking of the person 75 grams of Charas, 400 grams of Cannabis Powder and 200 grams of dried Cannabis leaves were recovered from his possession, the police said and added he has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
A case under the relevant t section of the law was registered and further investigations were taken up, the spokesman added. |
