GDC Chatroo organizes extension lecture on energy conservation

JAMMU, Dec 22: As part of ongoing activities under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ Department of Environmental Sciences GDC Chatroo organized extension lecture on energy conservation to celebrate National Energy conservation week. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqui Principal of the college and under the supervision of Dr. Ashaq Hussain.
The main resource person of the day was Prof. Ajeet Kumar Thakur, Head Department of Environmental Sciences who in his address throw a detailed light on various energy resources and their sustainable use. He emphasized in his lecture that the only and most effective cost saving solutions to energy crisis is the judicious use of Energy. Dr .Ashaq said that this week is being observed to raise mass awareness about global warming, climate change and to promote efforts towards saving energy resources and energy conservation as it plays a key role to overcome the prevailing climate change. He said that it is the most inexpensive solution to overcome energy crisis and hence each and every one of us must go for it.
