Shame: Killings of cops going unabated; Govt busy in cheap publicity
12/22/2021 11:36:04 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 22: The gruesome killing of two persons including one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police within 30 minutes has exposed tall claims of the Jammu and Kashmir government.
The publicity-hungry Jammu and Kashmir administration has failed to check repeated killings of cops in different parts of Kashmir Valley.
Instead of taking effective steps, the J&K administration is more concerned about addressing the galleries. Those at the helm of the affairs are trying to give an impression that everything is normal in J&K but the situation is entirely different from the projected picture. Now it has become a routine affair to tweet after repeated killings of innocent people including unarmed cops. Instead of taking effective steps to check such gruesome killings, it appears that the job of Babus is only to strongly condemn such killings.
Making a mockery of the system an assistant sub-inspector of police was killed by terrorists in the Bijbehara area of Anantnag on Wednesday evening.
Terrorists indiscriminately fired upon an ASI Mohammad Ashraf posted at Bijbehara police station and injured him critically. The injured cop was shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment, however, he succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
Earlier terrorists shot dead a civilian outside his residence in Edigah area of Srinagar.
Reports said that the civilian identified as Rouf Ahmad Khan son of Muhammad Shafi Khan was fired upon by the unknown terrorists outside his home today evening, resulting in critical injuries to him.
The official said that he was immediately shifted to hospital, however, he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Despite tall claims of the J&K Government, terrorists fired upon a police party at Gulshan Chowk area of Bandipora on in the first week of this month.
In that terror incident, two police personnel namely Selection Grade Constable Mohammad Sultan and constable Fayaz Ahmad got injured and attained martyrdom.
Earlier on November 7, a policeman was shot dead by terrorists near his residence at Batamaloo, Srinagar.
Constable Tausif Ahmad, 29, was killed after the terrorists shot him from a point-blank range outside his residence at SD Colony around 8 pm on November 7, according to the police. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way. Ahmad, the lone breadwinner of his family, is survived by his wife, two children aged four and 5 five, and an old mother.
The killing of one cop and one civilian is the latest incident in the fresh wave of terror activities in Kashmir Valley. The terrorists of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have been indulged in selective killing of civilians and unarmed cops. Under the guise of The Resistance Front (TRF) terrorists of LeT have killed as many as 12 civilians and policemen in October alone, marking the highest number of casualties in the year so far.
