Foul smell of nallah near bus stand exposes admin’s claims of Jammu being a smart city
1/5/2022 11:28:27 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 5: The people at helm may be claiming that Jammu is well on its path to become a smart city but the facts on the ground belie these tall claims with the same getting proved every now and then.
A nallah that flows quite adjacent to the bus stand in the old city of Jammu is an example of absolute neglect from the people at helm. All the garbage, filth and waste material is dumped at this nallah and up to this moment of time the people at helm have not bothered to set the matters right. Over the years the civic body managing the show of the Jammu city has failed to earmark a place for dumping of garbage and other waste and the same is dumped in the nallah thus giving a shabby look to the overall environs of the Jammu city and especially the areas that fall in vicinity of the bus stand.
The people including those who board the buses from this place are perplexed over the scheme of things and said that they fail to understand the logic behind making tall claims about development of Jammu. They said the foul smell emanating from the garbage and other waste gives a stinky look.
The people said that they have to cover their face and nose as and when they have to visit the bus stand located in the heart of Jammu city. They said the higher ups of UT administration should pull up their socks so that this scar is removed from the face of Jammu city.
