| SC grants bail to Royal Singh | | Amandeep murder case | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 7: In the murder case of Amandeep Singh in which trial court has awarded life-imprisonment to Royal Singh a three judge bench of Supreme Court comprising Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hima Kohli after hearing observed that the petitioner has already suffered incarceration for a period of more than 12 years.
The bench said that there is not much likelihood of the hearing of the appeal preferred by him before the High Court in near future. We deem it appropriate to grant bail to the petitioner herein, the bench observed. The SC directed that the petitioner is, accordingly, directed to be enlarged on bail on terms and conditions to be imposed by the trial court. |
