National Youth Day celebrated at GGM Science College Jammu
1/12/2022 10:44:44 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 12: NSS unit of GGM Science College under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO, Dr. Deepali Mahajan in collaboration with Vivekananda Kendra organized a two day National Youth workshop on National Youth Day which began today.
The motto of the workshop is to sensitize youth to lead a purposeful life by contributing their time for the service of the Motherland. Today's resource person Dr. Rakesh Raina, Deputy Head Vivekananda Centre Jammu started the workshop with Omkar Prayer followed by geet on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The welcome address and vote of thanks was given by NSS PO. Aaghav and Neeru spoke on the teachings of Swami. The birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda also called Swami Vivekananda Jayanti or National Youth Day; a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth is celebrated every year on 12th January.
The life of Swami was beautifully spoken at length and breadth by Dr. Rakesh urging the youth to learn from his life and imbibe the learning in hearts. When you are doing any work, do not think of anything beyond. Do it as worship, as the highest worship, and devote your whole life to it for the time being. Arise, awake and stop not until the goal is achieved. Take risks in your life. If you win, you can lead, if you lose, you can guide. Take up one idea, make that one idea your life, think of it, dream of it, let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success. The workshop ended with Shanti Mantra and pledge to follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda.
