J&K in grip of serious crisis, BJP govt clueless: Raman Bhalla
1/12/2022 10:48:23 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 12: J&K PCC working President Raman Bhalla launched a membership drive in Gandhi Nagar constituency. Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla urged the people to join the party in order to protect the country from forces that is "trying to destroy constitutional values". He said that Congress party is vibrant and only unifying force in the country, it will continue to remain at the forefront to serve people.
"The party will continue to oppose the anti-youth and anti-people policies of the BJP government. Inflation, rising unemployment, economic crisis have pushed people towards backwardness," Bhalla said. He appealed the people to come forward to support the party in its fight against the hypocrisy and wrong policies on the part of BJP.
Bhalla claimed that that people want change as the BJP has "failed" on all fronts of governance "leading to unchecked price rise and record unemployment". He said that people of all sections of the society are completely fed up with the BJP's performance in governance and its "anti-youth, anti-poor and anti-people policies".
"Besides the anti-employees, anti-trade, anti-farmers and anti-people policies of BJP, there is an uncontrolled price rise, record unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir," he alleged. "The Congress has been on the forefront to oppose the anti-people policies being imposed on the people through back door by the bureaucratic administration, as there is no elected government in Jammu and Kashmir for three and half years," he said.
Bhalla said that people of Jammu, who had voted in favour of BJP, were now feeling betrayed and looking for an opportunity to teach them a lesson. He claimed that, callous attitude of BJP government amidst huge Covid-19 pandemic crisis in J&K people have realized that they have been exploited to the hilt by BJP Govt.
He said that development in J&K, urban and rural areas alike, has become a big casualty due to self centric approach of govt who are unfortunately again trying to hoodwink the public opinion by making false and misleading promises and indulging in emotive politics. He said that the lack of will in the government has pushed the core sectors to the extreme levels of insignificance.
"I believe the bureaucratic set-up should help strengthen the democratic institutions at the grassroots level if they really want to serve the people in J&K," he said. He took a strong exception to the priorities of union territory government saying that instead of rechristening names of roads and buildings, the focus should have been on addressing the issues and sufferings of people.
