REASI, Jan 12: NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Pouni celebrated Lohri in the college premises. Prof. Rajni Bhagat, Principal of GDC Pouni commenced the function with 'Lohri Poojan' and a speech stating the significance of the festival of Lohri. She talked about Lohri Gurmukhi and wished that the flames of the bonfire may carry with it the messages and prayers of the staff and students to the sun god and enrich us all with positivity, good health and prosperous life. Prof. Balbir Kumar, Prof. Tarseem Kumar, Prof. Jaspal Singh, Prof. U.S. Liza, Prof. Bindu Sharma, Prof. Sanjogita Kumari, Suresh Kumar, Adil Hussain and Dr. Sarveer Hussain coordinated the function. As a part of the festivities, NSS students gave a melodious flavour to the celebration as they sang songs immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab along with the Professors. |
