| SBA goes for a toss in Ghat-Doda with garbage being dumped in nallah | | |

JAMMU, Jan 22: The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) has gone for a toss in both the urban and rural areas of the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir as the garbage at most places being dumped in the open, in the rivers & streams and in the nallahs.
In the Ghat area in Doda district a nallah has come up as the ultimate destination for the dumping of garbage. All the solid waste that comes out from the households of the Ghat area is dumped in the nallah and the authorities don’t bother to make the necessary corrections.
It has been learnt that two representatives of local bodies are living in the Ghat and a nearby area but still then no step has been taken to dispose of the garbage in a scientific manner. The residents have appealed the higher ups in the administration to take immediate steps and dispose of the garbage in scientific manner. |
