| Aijaz Ahmed Khan congratulates people on National Voters Day | | |

Reasi, Jan 25: Apni Party Vice President and Ex Minister Aijaz Ahmed Khan today congratulated people on the occasion of National Voters Day while urging the Govt to hold assembly polls in J&K. In his statement, he said that democracy is the essence of the constitution of India and celebrating National Voters Day reminds the importance of democratic system which does not exist in J&K. "It is imperative for the Govt to hold elections in J&K to restore the democratic system which has been absent for the last three years and causing great inconvenience to the people," he said. He said an elected Govt can do justice with the people who are feeling alienation in view of the failure of bureaucracy. "There is no alternative to an elected Govt in part of the world and it is important to restore statehood before holding elections," he added. Khan said that national voter’s day is a great power given to every citizen of this country which many citizens of many other countries don't have. It empowers the voters of the country to elect their Govt.
