| Ramban district celebrates 12th National Voters Day, amid COVID protocol | | |

RAMBAN, Jan 25: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today administered the pledge to the participants reposing unflinching faith in Indian democracy on the occasion of 12th National Voters’ day at Conference Hall, Ramban. The pledge exhorted young voters to be a sincere, unbiased, fearless and responsible voter.
The programmes were held across the district with COVID-19 protocol and various events on the theme “Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible & Participative ‘’ were held to mark 12th National Voters’ Day. ADDC Ramban, Rajinder Sharma, ADC, Harbans Lal, ACR, Dhirendra Sharma, Deputy DEO Lal Chand besides various other senior officers and students participated in the programme.
During the programme a debate was also held in which limited number of students participated. A cultural event was also presented by the District Information Centre Ramban. Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that we are marking the day as the foundation day of the ECI. He urged the youth to enroll themselves to obtain their EPIC which is a document of pride for all Indian citizens.
The speakers highlighted the importance of the day and significance of the Indian electoral process besides achievements registered by the ECI in its long journey. The DC felicitated various officers and officials for their exemplary contribution. He also awarded the participants of debate and cultural programme with trophies and certificates. |
