Early Times Report

Poonch, Jan 27: Insulting the National Flag has become common in Poonch and Rajouri districts where every year such incidents are reported and it has been seen that the concerned authorities hardly seem to take punitive action against the violators. Again such an incident of insult to the National Flag has been reported from Chief Medical Office Poonch, where officials hoisted the flag upside down on Republic Day. The picture of hoisting of tricolor upside down has gone viral in which officials of the CMO Office can be seen standing near the flag but it was very shocking that none noticed that the flag has been hoisted wrongly.
Although CMO Poonch himself was not present on the occasion as he was under home quarantine due to COVID infection and in his absence the other officials hoisted the national flag and when the picture flag hoisting spread among the people, who strongly reacted to the negligence of the officials and demanded strong action against those who were present there.
Sourced in the department also termed it a conspiracy to malign the image of the institution and the concerned head of the department, who hoisted the flag upside down and then made it viral to incite the feelings of people.
The local residents urged Lieutenant Governor MK Sinha to take strict action against the erring officials by immediately suspending them from their job so that message should go among the others who deliberately make such a mistake to hurt the feelings of patriots.
Despite repeated calls to CMO Poonch for his comments, he didn’t pick up the calls. Meanwhile DC Poonch, when contacted, assured action on such an incident.
