2/1/2022 11:20:22 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 1: Scores of employees engaged under Hospital Development Fund (HDF) scheme on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration near Press Club of Jammu here demanding grant of minimum wages and regularization of their services.
The employees including females were shouting 'we want justice' and sought immediate redressal of their grievances.
The protesting employees said, "We are getting meager salaries besides several of us are not getting regularized despite serving for the last 20 odd years. We demand a substantial hike in our salaries as well as regularization."
"We have worked tirelessly during the toughest time of Covid but authorities have not regularized our services," they added.
Sobbing profusely, State President HDF Employees Union, Mir Nisar Ahmad while talking to reporters said, "We have worked tirelessly but still are not being considered for regularization. Moreover we are getting meager wages which is a big impediment to survival. We urge the government to regularize our services and implement minimum wages act for HDF employees"
He added that the government should regularize them and the salaries to HDF employees should be drawn from the Finance Department.
The protesting HDF employees urged the Lt Governor-led administration to look into the matter and regularize their services.
