2/3/2022 10:27:22 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 3: Sarv Shakti Sena (SSS), J&K unit, urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to resume routine functioning of schools in the Jammu and Kashmir and end the practice of online teaching in the overall interest of the students at large.
Addressing media persons here today, President Sarv Shakti Sena Jammu and Kashmir, Rajan Gupta said that the Union Territory administration should immediately order normal resumption of schools so that the school going children who have suffered a lot during the past about two years due to outbreak of Covid pandemic do not suffer any more.
Gupta said that majority of states across the nation have already ordered the resumption of the routine school functioning subject to strict adherence to Covid SOPs and CAB. He said that in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, Covid cases are on decline and the government should take initiative to reopen the schools in the Jammu and Kashmir.
Rajan Gupta said "It is good that most of the population has been vaccinated in Jammu and Kashmir and now event those who are in the age group of 15 to 18 years have also been vaccinated thus making a sound ground for reopening of schools with vaccinated staff."
"The fact that there is no alternative to physical class work as online studies can only provide outline of the subjects therefore government should not waste even a day and open the schools as soon as possible or else future of the children will become shaky with no knowledge to support them during testing times," he added.
Rajan Gupta made a fervent appeal to the Lt Governor Sinha to take adequate measures to save the future of students especially those belonging to economically weakest sections and issue order for reopening of schools in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
